Supply Chain Risk Management

There is often confusion and a misconception of the term “Supply Chain Risk” used in the market place. The subject is hugely broad and all encompassing, however we can make some distinctions by separating Supplier Risk and Supply Chain Risk.

Supplier Risk

The Risk at Company/Entity Level

The risk associated with an individual suppliers (or a collection of suppliers) ability to deliver products and services on-time, on-budget and within agreed standards.

Supply Chain Risk

Aggregation of suppliers, External and Event Driven Risks/Shocks

Aggregated risks created as a result of adverse events or shocks impacting suppliers within the network who participate in the creation and delivery of products and services to their collective upstream customer.

There is significant movement and increasing social consciousness around the globe in relation to sustainability. The United Nations has developed 17 key and overarching global goals for sustainability (Sustainable Development Goals), which are also referred to as the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

At StratiQ we totally embrace these goals and believe that all businesses, large or small, should work hard to develop as many of the 17 SDG’s into their Supply Chain strategies as possible.
